Hey, ho, here I am again with my calendar bytes!
I’m not quite as early this year — promise to try harder next year (no, really!)– but here you go, as always: your very own big-event calendar for 2016, with lots of space and yer non-standard things to celebrate (along with the standard ones, of course, if you’re Canadian and particularly Ontarian).
See previous years for more details. BTW, you can also print it on 8.5 x 14 on your very own printer, if you don’t feel like going down the street in the cold to the printer’s. 🙂

Um…Happy Little New Year? Sorry!
Stuff happens, comme on dit. I’m sorry for not being on time with this, but in case you haven’t found another as stupendously useful as this one, here’s my 2014 calendar, in 12-page 11×17 PDF format, that you can take down to the printer and have up on your wall in a jiffy. For details (and lots of them!), see my posts from previous years.
I’ve already started the 2015 one, hoping that that will make it easier to get it posted in time. Sheesh.
First person to find a mistake will win a vegan beer. 😉 (I did it in a real hurry, and have already corrected a lot. Why on earth my normally- “United-Nations-blue” logo came out hot pink in the PDF, I’ll never know. Sorry about that, too. Maybe the universe has decided it’s time for the women to run the UN… My own printed ones came out the right colour, and all the days have lines around them too.)

If you’ve bin waitin’ for a 2013 11×17 printable wall calendar in PDF format with lots of room for events, well, you’re in the right place. Copy it to a handy USB stick and take it down the street to someone who can print on 11×17 paper!
One large page per month with lots of room on each day, plus a left-hand column for notes. I use mine for a permanent diary of sorts, as I’m not disciplined enough to actually *write* in a diary past, say, the first week of January. Heck, I can’t even write a blog. See blog for details. Or not. 🙂

2013 11×17 printable PDF wall calendar, one month per page
I save mine every year so I can go back and look stuff up, such as first frost, when I planted what, who was visiting, what record temperature we were experiencing on a certain day, when we ate our first or last fresh tomato, or…well, you get it. Along with all the things people normally use a calendar for.
I can’t handle looking at the world a day or a week at a time, and we have lots of stuff to keep track of, so this is my way of doing it. I wasn’t able to find exactly what I was looking for, so I created it, and when I first started handing them out a couple of years ago, I discovered that others found them useful, so I posted last year’s, and that got a good response too.
So here you go again. Happy birthday, Merry Christmas, Happy Solstice, whatever the occasion, poof! it’s yours.

BlueChef has a LOT of stuff going on that happens way in advance, so to speak, so I’ve been wanting to write on this new calendar for a few months now, but it didn’t exist until tonight, so I imagine you too will be happy that I’ll start working on the 2014 calendar much sooner. Assuming we need one, in this new world a-comin’. 😉

Howdy again!
I would like to share a calendar I made for self and friends, so here it is (preview; full PDF download is at the bottom):
I made it myself in WordPerfect, because I couldn’t find exactly what I wanted on the internet, so am thinking that other people might be happy to find something like this. (I’ve just had the same experience with trying to find a pattern for a single-crochet hexagon, and am now working on creating one, so I’ll let you know when I’ve figured out the math and made it look pretty.)
This calendar would be appropriate for English-speaking Ontarians (Canada) who have a lot of family events to keep track of and also want to know about solstices, major Muslim and Jewish observances and other interesting dates you don’t normally find on a preprinted calendar (at least in Ontario). You’ll be able to tell where I got my information by reading the calendar’s footnotes. (http://www.timeanddate.com/ is a way cool site, e.g..)
There’s lots of space for notes on each date, and in a column on the left-hand side of the page, as well as mini-calendars for one previous month and two succeeding ones.
How do I print on 11×17 paper? I don’t; I get our local printer down the street to do it, either in colour or B/W. Easy.
It comes on 12 separate pages; I clip them all together with two small binder clips and hang them up on small nails in our kitchen, but you can also use hooks, either permanent or removable. Then I just put last month’s calendar at the back of the pile when the new month arrives, and voilà! I have a permanent record of what we were doing, what we were making, eating, planting, etc., who was visiting, what the crazy weather was like, and so forth, to file away, so I can prattle on to small children about it all when I’m 80 or so.
